| ABOUT UNIVERSITY PARIS DAUPHINE |

Created in 1968, the University of Paris Dauphine, has carved out an enviable reputation
among leading European institutions for business education . It was founded as an
independent center dedicated to teaching and research in private and public organizations,
and market dynamics in all sectors of the economy. Along the years, the university has
developed a number of highly rated undergraduate and post-graduates programmes in applied
mathematics, computer sciences and social sciences; specifically economics, business
administration and finance. Dauphine students receive a broad-based education that ensures
their adaptability. They are also involved in in-depth professional courses designed in close
collaboration with the business world aiming at developing leadership, innovative thinking
and problem solving capabilities, in a global context.

THE MASTER IN ASSET MANAGEMENT PROGRAM (DESS 222) |

The Master in Asset Management program draws upon two of University Dauphine’s
distinctive strengths: its commitment to excellence and innovation in applied economics
and financial research on the one end, the ongoing exchange of ideas between acadamia
and the financial community, on the other.
The curriculum was designed with a consortium of investment firms led by Axa IM. Its
objective is to provide graduates with the broad knowledge, skills set and perspective
necessary to seize the opportunities of a global financial environment as well as understand
and manage related risks. It prepares for a wide range of careers in the financial industry in
areas such as:
- Portfolio Management
- Equity and Fixed Income Research
- Structured Product Engineering and Marketing
- Alternative Investment
- Private Equity
- Performances analysis
- Sales &Trading
- Intuitional Sales and Marketing
- Financial Consulting
Academically challenging, the Master in Asset Management program has a part time
curriculum that combines both a theoretical and a practical approach to the latest
developments in finance and investment management. It also provides students with the
intangible skills sought by employers today: strategic thinking, sound decision making,
leadership and team skills, and the ability to adapt to changing situations. Equally important,
the program provides immediate value that is essential for tomorrow's managers and social
contact and networking opportunities in a dynamic, multicultural, urban business setting.
Admission is fairly selective. Applicants should have a 4-year undergraduate degree and a
solid grounding in either economics, business administration, or quantitative sciences. The
program does not require prior work experience, although it can be a plus. The continuing
education track is open to high potential young professionals, with a few years of experience
and adequate credentials, generally sponsored by their employers. Courses are generally
taught in French. However candidates are required to have a solid knowledge of English.

A Part Time “en Alternance” Curriculum
A distinctive feature of University Dauphine ’s Master in Asset Management program is the
students’ immersion in real world situations through the internship during the academic
year: For a 6-to-12 months period, and on a three-days-a-week basis, interns are involved
in the daily flow of business in areas such as investment research, fund management, sales
and trading. Our graduates gain first hand exposure to the practice of finance, investment and
risk management. In addition, the long “ en alternance” internship offers students
opportunity to develop their skills in a chosen field for career development, and position
them well for future job placement.
Most leading investment houses have expressed strong interest in the innovative part time
internship principle, and often consider it as a pre-recruiting step. The following firms
regularly offer internship positions to the participants of the Master in Asset Management
Programme (non exhaustive list): Société Générale Asset Management, AXA Investment
Managers, BNP Paribas Asset Management, Crédit Lyonnais Asset Management, Deutsche
Bank, HSBC Asset Management, ABN AMRO, BNP Paribas Securities, …

| PROGRAM STRUCTURE |
 |
|
The program has three major course components . First, prerequisites will strengthen basic
knowledge in financial mathematics, econometrics and derivatives for the study of finance
at a sophisticated level. Second, the theoretical courses provide a strong foundation in applied
economics and the analytic skills employed in financial management. Third, the practical
courses and conferences cycles, lectured by faculty and visiting professionals experts in their
field, apply academic knowledge to financial issues in institutions and to asset management.
The curriculum can be completed in 12 months or 24 months (continuing education track).
